The Nitro RC Cars Models
The nitro rc cars models make use of the single servo to throttle and brake control of the system, provide more air and fuel mixture to the internal combustion engine, and rotation of the servo which causes throttle of the carburetor to open. Rotation in other direction for the servo results to application of the torque to a link and cam the results to friction with the braking material. Location of the brake is to be found on the driveshaft or spur gear and is applicable to stoppage of power of the driven wheels. Some models use a control transmission box, which enables the vehicle to drive in reverse.
The nitro rc cars engine size range from 12-35 cubic inches. The reason being the restriction by main sanctioning bodies in nitro radio controlled race cars. There are outlaw engines with larger size manufactured engines than the one mentioned above. These are meant for vehicles not to be used for sanctioning racing and thus there is no need for them to comply with the mentioned regulations. The size of engine has relation to the class of the car. .12-.18 cubic inch engines are meant for the class of cars in the scale of 1/10 on and off-road vehicles, .21-.32 cubic inch engines are meant for vehicles that fall in the scale of 1/8. There are however some exceptions with the vehicle make of Thunder Tiger/Team Associated RC models and Schumacher whereby the large engines come up with standard equipment on certain models.

Nitro rc cars engines are powered by nitro fuel allowing model cars to reach moderate speeds, without being modified. Maximum power is attained from medium to high speeds and at a slightly slower throttle reaction than for electric powered nitro rc cars. This is attributed to the clutching and lack of torque. Unlike radio controlled electric powered cars which produce instantaneous torque, the nitro powered radio controlled cars takes time before the engine spools up and clutch engages but are refueled and returned to race in a few seconds. The electric cars on the other hand need removal of the body shells and battery fasteners so as to replace battery fasteners before retuning to action. The cooling in the radio controlled nitro powered car is by air or by oil mixed in with nitro fuel. The radio powered nitro cars are able to be run continually avoiding the need for taking breaks in between for cooling purposes so long as the tuning is perfectly done.
The operation of nitro rc cars takes the resemblance of full-sized fuel vehicles by making use of a two stroke engine compared to their electric powered rc cars. The main selling point for enthusiasts of nitro powered rc cars is the sound of the engine in addition to high stock top speeds. The drawback here is that the exhaust contains unburned fuel that ends up coating the chassis. Thus, more of cleaning is required compared to electric powered rc cars. Cleaning done using compressed air nozzles and solvents such as denatured alcohol.

Question by Sophia: How do I cut out and paste decals from a model car kit?
I have this model car kit, and I was told for my first two kits, that I had to sort of cut around the stripe or license plate decal, or whatever it was, but that didn't seem right. It always cut wrong and messed up whole thing. How do I get it out, what are some step by step directions. Thanks for the help!

Most decals need to be cut as close as you can to the stripe, emblem etc. so that the film they're on doesn't show up badly.Use a sharp X-acto knife. Once cut out, soak in water for a minute to release them. Decals should also go on a glossy surface, hopefully you painted car with gloss paint. Before sliding the decal onto model I use a product called Micro Set to help it lay down. You can also use white vinegar. Nudge decal into place and dab with tissue till dry. If it moves, apply more Micro set/vinegar and re-position. Let dry and proceed to the rest. When finished follow up with a clear spray to seal them.
